Call for Artist: ALC Group Fall Show 2017
ALC members get your works ready for the Fall Group Show at the Chatham Township Municipal Building. The receiving is on Tuesday September 12th, 1-2:30pm. The reception is on September 15th, 6:30-8:30pm and co-incides with the solo show of Maia Kumari Gilman’s works. All current members have an opportunity to show up to 4 pieces in the group show. Workshop at the Chatham Library
The Library of Chatham offers a workshop led by Maia Kumari Gilman, local architect and ALC member. The workshop “Building Better World through Architecture” is suitable for children 11 years old and up. The children will learn how to transform their world by designing and building a three-dimensional model. They will also explore how architecture can create efficient communities with good flow. Those interested in a career in architecture will have a tangible model to start their portfolio! The models created in this workshop will be shared in an exhibition at the library at the end of the program. When: Wednesdays, July 12, 19, 26 and August 2, 4-6pm. Sally Abbott Solo Show Extended till September 2017
If you did not have a chance yet to stop by the Chatham Twp. Municipal Building to see Sally Abbott’s latest works, you can do so till September 2017. Sally’s works will be on view at the Lundt-Glover Gallery, at the Chatham Twp. Municipal Building, 58 Meyersville Rd., Chatham Twp., NJ till early September. The gallery is open Monday – Friday 10am-4pm. There were many new exciting works added since Sally sold over 10 pieces at her March opening. Here are a few photos from the show spruce-up. While you are visiting, you can also view on-going ALC Group show in the adjoining strolling gallery.

Call for Artists – ALC at Drip Coffee in Chatham

ALC at Fishawack 2017
ALC was invited by the Chatham Borough to participate in the annual Fishawack Festival on June 10. Janice Piccolo of the Community Services of the Chatham Borough is organizing the event. She and her team added a prizes for the submitted art works this year. Media accepted: watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel, photography, drawing and graphics, mixed media. Awards for artworks themed “Chatham” will qualify for following prizes: Best in Exhibit – $200 Judges’ Choice – $100 Honorable Mention – Ribbons Awards for artworks themed “New Jersey” or any other subject (meaning flowers, pet portraits etc.) People’s Choice award – $50 Judges: Amy Jarvis & Gregory Egan Entry cost: Chatham resident – free, non-residents $25 Entry…

Public Arts Project under way
Two of our members are participating in the public arts project in Chatham. Chatham’s Public Art’s Council initiated the project of painting the traffic boxes in town. Jennifer DuTeil and Celeste Fondaco are each working on one of the boxes. How exciting!

Philadelphia in May – ALC Bus Trip
Photos from the ALC trip to the Philadelphia Museum of Art: Please join us on one of ALC’s big events of the year: a bus trip to Philadelphia on May 7. You will have the opportunity to view the permanent collections and the special exhibits of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Rodin Museum. Philadelphia, being a historically significant city, offers much more besides its museums.
