  • Ava Tesoriero Named ALC Scholarship Winner

    Ava Tesoriero has been named the recipient of the 2021 Art League of the Chathams Scholarship. The $1000 award is given to a Chatham High School graduating senior who has excelled in the arts and is pursuing a post-secondary program in art.   Ava plans to attend Skidmore College, where she will major in art with a concentration in ceramics and minor in art administration. An honor student, equestrian, and active volunteer, Ava is the recipient of a Prudential Community Spirit Award. She earned a Girl Scout Gold Award for developing and teaching a sensory art program for special needs adults at Corpus Christi Church in Chatham Township.   The…

  • ALC Donates $1000 to Aid Front Line Medical Workers

    The Art League of the Chathams has donated $1000 to provide meals to health care workers serving on Covid-19 units at the Morristown Medical Center. The donation was made through FLAG (Front Line Appreciation Group) of Chatham and Madison, a grassroots community group aimed at helping hospital medical workers on the front line treating Covid-19 patients and at the same time providing business to local restaurants, which have been limited to take-out and delivery orders during the coronavirus shutdown. The group uses donations to pay for the food prepared and delivered by the restaurants. The hospital’s medical workers are banned from going to the cafeteria while caring for Covid-19 patients, so…

  • Posponed until further notice – ALC Spring Group Show Featuring Lisa Cohn & Joanne Petuchovas Duo Show

    ALC Spring Show Postponed The ALC Spring Show has been postponed until further notice to support public efforts to slow the spread of the coronavirus. The show was originally scheduled to open on March 27. Please check this website for updates on the rescheduling of the show. Artwork from the winter show will remain on view at the Chatham Township Municipal Building during its business hours.

  • Winter 2019-2020 Group Show and Celeste Fondaco Solo Show

    The opening receptions for the ALC Winter 2019-2020 group show and the Celeste Fondaco solo show took place on December 8th. A holiday boutique and a 6×6-in. show and sale were part of the group show reception. The artwork in the solo show, group show, and the 6×6-in. show will remain on view in the Chatham Township Municipal Building through March 27.  

  • ALC Friends & Family Winter Show and Celeste Fondaco Solo Show

    The Opening Reception of the ALC Friends and Family Winter Show, Sunday, Dec. 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Chatham Township Municipal Building, 58 Meyersville Road, Chatham Township. The reception will feature a holiday boutique, a show and sale of 6×6-in. artworks for holiday gifts, a solo show of paintings by Celeste Fondaco, as well as an exhibit of works by the general membership and invited guests. The reception is free and open to the public.  

  • Susan Scarince Jones

    After studying fine art, Susan became an Illustrator, giftware designer and free-lance artist. Throughout the years, she has taught art classes and workshops in area libraries and after school programs. She enjoys working with mixed media collage, metal, and acrylics. She also prefers to work in an abstract impressionist style, and usually does not plan ahead to keeps things exciting! She is the co-leader of Artmatters in Washington Township Morris, a member of Drew Art Association, and Art League of the Chathams.
